Tomato Hostel: design fresco a piccoli prezzi
Oggi non possiamo fare a meno di parlarvi di un altro luogo che rimarrà per sempre nei nostri cuori e che sicuramente ricorderemo del nostro soggiorno a Torino. Detto ciò siamo liete di presentarvi il “Tomato Backpackers Hostel”, un giovane e innovativo ostello italiano che però racchiude un ambiente allegro, raffinato e di design che non ha nulla da invidiare ai migliori alberghi d’Italia, ne tanto meno ai più moderni ostelli esteri. E tutto ciò a prezzi decisamente low.
Situato nel quartiere di San Salvario (Chiara e Caterina ne hanna già parlato su loro blog, ndr), e ricavato dalla ristrutturazione sapiente di un vecchio albergo cittadino ( l’ “Albergo moderno” che leggerete nella scritta che troneggia sulla facciata principale dell’edificio) l’ostello è stato aperto nel 2011 da Tommaso Vineis che, viaggiatore come noi, per anni è andato alla scoperta di posti nuovi , lo zaino in spalla e la voglia di conoscere gente sempre nuova e diversa. Ed è proprio grazie alle esperienze vissute all’estero ed agli ostelli visitati in altre zone del mondo in veste di “backpacker” che nasce il Tomato, una struttura giovane e allegra, composta da 14 camere tutte arredate con la massima cura dei dettagli. Cos’altro ha da offrire l’ostello? Una piccola colazione gratuita, una cucina a disposizione degli ospiti, l’affitto biciclette , cortile e bar interno , wi-fi gratuito in tutte le stanze e in ultimo , ma non per importanza un servizio di bookcrossing con una libreria fornitissima di guide di viaggio, per la quale sicuramente impazzirete. Ma se tutto ciò vi sembra abbastanza nella norma, ci pensiamo noi ad aggiungere alcune chicche fondamentali che vi faranno innamorare del Tomato. Innanzitutto bisogna sottolineare che la struttura è interamente eco-friendly (perciò state attenti a leggere e rispettare le semplici istruzioni e le regole che troverete all’interno delle vostre camere riguardo al consumo di luce e acqua ); va poi detto che a rendere il soggiorno ancora più piacevole è il personale dell’ostello, giovane, gentilissimo e sempre disposto ad offrire consigli ed informazioni utili su cosa fare e su cosa vedere in città ; infine, rimarrete piacevolmente sorpresi di scoprire che al Tomato sarete sempre aggiornati sui vari eventi (diurni e notturni) che la splendida Torino ha da offrire ogni giorno ai turisti, ma anche agli abitanti. Il tocco di stile in più? le divertenti immagini trompe-l’oeil e le scritte ironiche sparse qua e la per le mura dell’ostello (che noi ci siamo divertite a scovare e fotografare ). Insomma al Tomato non ci si annoia mai. Vi abbiamo convinti? L’indirizzo corretto è Via Silvio Pellico 11, mi raccomando , segnatelo con attenzione perchè quest’anno la struttura è stata eletta come uno dei 10 migliori ostelli in Italia , perciò non lasciatevelo scappare! Tomato Hostel: the low-price design hostel in Turin
Today our post deals with a great place that we will always keep in our heart after our trip to Turin. We’re glad to introduce the Tomato Backpackers Hostel, a young and innovative hostel, a nice and happy place, so stylish that it is as good as all the best Italian hotels and all the more modern European hostels. And the prices are really interesting!
The Tomato is situated in the quarter called San Salvario -that we already mentioned in our last post as one of the best areas to discover Turin’s nightlife. In 2011, after the restoration of an old city hotel called Albergo Moderno (you will see the old name still written on the main façade), Tommaso Vineis, a young Italian traveler, decided to open this nice place. After all his experiences abroad and all the hostels he visited all over Europe as a backpacker, he decided to experience something new in its city, and that’s how the Tomato Backpackers Hostel is born.
This young and alternative hostel is composed of 14 bedrooms (both single/double rooms and dorms), all furnished with extreme attention for details. What else can we say? The hostel offers a simple free breakfast, a common kitchen, bike rental, an internal courtyard and a café, free Wi-Fi in all the 14 rooms and in the common areas and, last but not least, a great book crossing service: at the Tomato you will find so many books and travel guides that you will love it at first sight!
But if you need some more details, we’re here to satisfy your curiosity and we’re sure that you will love the Tomato, exactly as we did. First of all the building is completely eco-friendly (we suggest to read carefully all the instructions that you’ll find in your bedroom concerning the consumption of water and electricity). Moreover, the staff is young, kind and friendly: they’re always available for a suggestion or a tip on what to do and what to see in the beautiful Turin; at the Tomato Backpackers Hostel you will be always informed on all the events that the city offers to its visitors and its inhabitants. And finally, a stylish touch: all over the walls of the hostel you’ll find many funny trompe-l’oeil drawings, images and ironic writings that we discovered during our stay… So you’ll never get bored at the Tomato, have we persuaded you?
